Tea, Treats, and Tulips to Toast Quilt Show Opening on Saturday, April 14
To celebrate the
opening of an exhibition of quilts from the Country Quilters' Guild,
the Center for the Arts will offer tea and treats on Saturday, April 14
from 1 to 5 p.m. All ages are welcome and the suggested donation is
$5 per person at the door.

Earth Day at the Center - Saturday, April 21
The
Center is joining forces with Sandcastles, the Mason County District
Library, and AFFEW (our local environmental organization, A Few Friends
of the Earth and the World) to celebrate Earth Day.
AFFEW
will have its Earth Day hub at Community Church just steps away from
the Center, Sandcastles, and the Ludington library.
Here are Center's Earth Day activities (specific times to be announced):
Earth Songs by the Lakeshore Childrens' Chorus, Megan Danes Blount, and Jean and Craig Vredeveld.
Learn about plans for a rain garden, herb garden, and native plant garden at the open house for the upcoming Garden Wars.

The Center's beautiful new art and craft studio is offering various classes in the next couple of months.

Calling All Artists & Crafters!
Artists
and crafters are invited to participate in a new arts/crafts show at
the Center for the Arts on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The
show is part of Big Sable Point Lighthouse Keepers Association
inaugural Michigan's West Coast Lighthouse Festival the first weekend in
June.
The
"Maritime Magic" arts/crafts show will feature, but not be limited to,
items of a lighthouse, maritime or Michigan-specific theme. Booth spaces
rent for $30-$75; table spaces are $15. Deadline for applications is
April 15.

American Son
April 20, 21, 27, 28 & 29
Lakeside Civic Players Present American Son, A Dramatic Play About Finding Trust and
Forgiveness in the Face of a Family Secret.
The
play, which was written by Michigan native Justin Berkobien, opens
Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Additional performances are April 21, 27
and 28 at 7:30 p.m., and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.
Josh Thomas directs and stars in the play. Michelle Kiessel and Chris Mathewson round out the cast.
Tickets are $10 and available online

Volunteers and Treasures Needed for Annual Indoor Yard Sale
April 28 & 29
Are
you doing spring-cleaning? Cleaning out your closet, your basement,
your garage? The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is having its annual
indoor yard sale and organizers are seeking donations of items to sell.
Donated
items may include, but are not limited to, furniture, household items,
small appliances, objects d'art, collectibles, games, toys, books.
We're
also looking for volunteers to work one or both days of the sale
(you'll get first pick at the treasures!). Stop by the Center to sign
up as a volunteer or just call us at 231-845-2787.
The
yard sale will be held indoors at the Center for the Arts gallery, 107
S. Harrison St. The sale will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 28
and from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, April 29. All items will be sold at 50% off
on Sunday.
Items
may be dropped off during regular Center business hours, 12-5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 24 through Friday, April 27. People may also schedule an
appointment to drop off items by calling the Center office 845-2787.
