Literary Arts at the Center

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts provides a lively forum for poets and prose writers through a partnership with Ludington Visiting Writers,  our in-house literary arts program. The joint venture provides a supportive and encouraging environment for writers of every genre, as well as the opportunity for community members to share in the best new writing being done in Michigan.

  • The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is the site of the Ludington Visiting Writers annual writers conference, featuring workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction led by noted writers and instructors from Michigan’s leading schools and universities, as well as panel discussions, craft presentations, and faculty and participant readings.

  • Throughout the year, Ludington Visiting Writers director George Dila leads fiction writing workshops in which local writers meet to discuss writing technique and engage in exercises to ignite the creative spark. The workshops meet in the Judith Minty Writers Room at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
