Online Photo Contest: Frequently Asked Questions

Can the photo have been previously published or entered into another contest?
Yes, however we ask that you do not submit photos that have been entered into THIS contest before.

Can I submit photos if I don't live in the Ludington area?
Yes, you do not need to be from the Ludington area to participate.

Are there any rules on image alterations?
No. The image must be your own, but alterations using filters or programs like Photoshop are welcomed.

Can I enter the contest if I am under 18?
Yes, with your parent's permission, you can enter the contest. After the PayPal portion of the entry is complete, photographers are able to register themselves even if the payment information is under a different name.

What is done with the submissions after the contest?
The grand prize winning photo will be printed, framed and hung in the Ludington Area Center for the Arts until 2013. The grand prize winning photo, as well as the category winning photos, may be used to advertise the contest in the future.

The photos entered into the contest will be available for viewing on the Ludington Area Center for the Arts website.

Can I submit images with my watermark or copyright on them?

Yes. It is preferred that the watermark or copyright be small. In order to make the judging completely fair, the watermark or copyright will be obscured when Todd and Brad Reed review the images.
